Aussie Kiss X-Rated

The Student Windsurfing Association (SWA) was founded in 1999 by three students who were looking for a new way to galvanise the efforts of the UK’s various university windsurfing societies. By linking up, these clubs could organise social events, establish regular competitions, and share facilities. They could also act as a point of contact for students who wanted to participate in the sport, but were not fortunate enough to have a club at their own university.

Before long they realised that there were innumerable students who would like to try their hand at windsurfing, but didn’t know where to start. The problem was they needed to learn the basic skills, but, while they often had blocks of free time during holidays, weekly lessons wouldn’t always fit in with their studies. The idea of Aussie Kiss was born.

Conceived in 2002 as a large-scale training event, Aussie Kiss was soon established as one of the most popular events in the student sporting calender. In 2012 the organisers celebrated their tenth year, and marked the occasion with this promotional video.

The latest Aussie Kiss event offered participants two nights bed and board in popular Cornish surfing resort Bude, two day passes at the Roadford Lake Sailing Club, expert tuition from recognised windsurfing professionals, entry to special social events, a free goody bag filled with superb essentials from the event’s many sponsors, and most importantly, a frankly indecent amount of fun. And all for the bargain price of £55.

So if the video has sparked your interest, find out if there’s a windsurfing society at your university. If there isn’t, the SWA will be more than happy to put you in touch with your nearest club, and soon you too could be joining the party at Aussie Kiss.
