Don’t Look Down! This Dude Almost Fell To His Death Before Breaking The Slacklining World Record

Spencer Seabrooke just crossed across a 210 ft gap...without a safety rope.

Sorry for the small delay in publishing this, we’ve actually spent the last thirty minutes hauling our jaws off the floor and gaffer taping them back into place. This is genuinely one of the most astonishing stunts we’ve ever seen (and we’ve seen quite a lot of astonishing stunts during our time).

Shot in Squamish, British Columbia, the video features the longest free solo slackline in history. The distance traversed, a new world world record, is a mind-boggling 210 feet. 210 feet, if you’re trying to picture that, is the equivalent length of 33 Premier League goalies laid out head-to-toe. Oh and, before we forget, there’s no safety rope.

There’s a moment early on when Spencer Seabrooke, the slacklining-extraordinaire, nearly falls to his death. It’s a real heart-in-the-mouth moment, and amps the nerve-jangling atmosphere all the way up to 11. Spencer is unperturbed by this potentially catastrophic moment. He recovers well, and carries on like it’s just a casual stroll.

Spencer Seabrooke must have some serious trouble going through security at airports, because his balls are made of solid steel. In other news, we’re very much enjoying that the location for this remarkable effort is one letter short of the word ‘squeamish’.
