More Info

Skiing, of course, is all about having fun. Like the majority of action sports though, there’s a thread of danger that runs through the heart of it as an activity. This lingering presence of peril is the main ingredient behind all those adrenaline rushes, and giddy highs, you can get from sliding about on snow. And while, if you’re at intermediate level or above, you’ll probably make it through most days on the slope without hitting your head there’s still a lot to be said for ensuring that when accidents do happen you’re as well protected as can be. Peace of mind for you, peace of mind for your loved ones, it’s where products like Head Compact Pro Ski Helmet really come into their own.

Features

The Head Compact Pro manages to be both lightweight and durable, meaning you’ve got the protection of a nuclear bunker up top without the concrete weight that goes with it. The helmet has a slim profile and adjustable ear pads, while the patented Sphere Fit system means you can ensure it’s comfortably locked onto your skull no matter your head shape. It’s all dialled in with a BOA dial, a setup that means you can efficiently optimise the fit without applying unnecessary or uncomfortable pressure.

“The protection of a nuclear bunker up top without the concrete weight that goes with it”

As seasoned skiers can attest, there’s nothing worse than skiing about the mountains in a helmet which brings a sub-standard helmet climate to proceedings. Poor ventilation on a ski helmet can cause a sweaty head situation and this, in turn, can make your head cold and uncomfortable when the alpine winds really start to whip up a noise. Thankfully, you’ll have no such issue with the Head Compact Pro as there’s seven ventilation outlets and a generally very impressive vent channel system present. Head claim their Thermal Ventilation leads warm air away but doesn’t let cold air in. Clever.

Right, shells. Let’s talk about shells. The Hardshell Technology that Head uses in their products is properly excellent when it comes to both the longevity and impact protection it offers. From race helmets to rental helmets, they implement it everywhere. While we’re on the subject of shells, hats off to Head for the 360° Microshell. The 360° Microshell is a polycarbonate layer that wraps around the lower helmet lip. It prevents scratches and dents in the helmet’s foam.

“If you’re a sunrise to sunset kind of shredder, you’re bound to appreciate the feel of this lid’s interior”

The Microfur in the helmet will keep you warm, and feels incredibly comfortable against the skin and hair of your head. If you’re a sunrise to sunset kind of shredder, you’re bound to appreciate the feel of this lid’s interior. Top marks to Head for the implementation of a Beanie Liner, Neckgator, and Removable Ear Pads as well.

Conclusion

If you’re looking to invest in a high-quality helmet, that won’t just offer you reassuring protection but also keep your noggin comfortable over the course of long days in the mountains, look no further than the Head Compact Pro. It’s lightweight but also properly tough, the dream combination if you ask us.
