Ollieing Over Priceless Artworks: Skateboarding In Christie’s Auction House

This is cool!

We’re not always massive fans of mainstream takes on skateboarding (they can be pretty cheesy to say the least) but this video, made by Christie’s Auction House in New York, is actually pretty cool.

“It was conceived as an advert for an auction which raised a cool 134.6 million dollars!”

It shows skater Christopher Martin ripping round their warehouse and their show room, ollie-ing over priceless artworks, gapping their carefully polished wooden stairs and grinding the carts they use to wheel paintings around.

Which actually looks like a hell of a lot of fun – maybe they should let skaters in more often?

The whole thing was apparently conceived as an advert for a modern art auction which took place last night and raised (wait for it…) 134.6 million dollars!

Not bad for an evening’s work eh? I wonder what Chris’ fee was for this…?
