These Guys Just Broke A Three Year Old Ski Jumping World Record… Twice In Two Days

Ever seen someone jump the length of two and a half football pitches on skis? This is mad!

Peter Prevc is rumoured to have set a swarm of wasps loose in Anders Fannemel’s house after the Norwegian beat his world record ski jump of 250m just one day after it was set.

Okay, so the wasp thing might not be true, but we’re betting Peter was pretty bummed given that the record he beat – by a full three and a half metres – has stood since way back in 2011.

The 22 year-old Slovenian became the first man to ever fly 250m on 14 February at a World Cup event in Vikersund, Norway, but he barely had time to pop his champagne before being told his jump, which you can watch above, had already been beaten.

Indeed, Fannemel had been just half a metre short of the old 246.5m record in qualification, and he went even further on Sunday 15 February, rocketing a crazy 251.5m and metaphorically slapping Prevc in the face as he did so.

We can’t find the exact moment in the footage of the jump yet, but we’re also fairly sure Anders send Peter a Snapchat selfie halfway through his nine-second flight with the caption “M0ve a5ide b1tch”.

Both jumps by Peter and Anders make for truly amazing watching. Each jumper looks like they’re about to land then seem to take off wingsuit-style and sail onto the flat.

Let’s be honest though, if you were asked to choose between watching a ski jump that was 250m long or 251.5m long, you’re going to choose the latter.

Sorry Peter. Good effort, but you’ve been outdone. Please don’t flood our houses with swarms of wasps.
