These Scientists Went To Study A Remote Volcano… And Found Sharks Living Inside It

It sounds like the plot of a bad movie, but this is absolutely real

Two of our favourite scary things on the planet are sharks and volcanos. Both have fascinated humanity from the very first moment our ancestors laid eyes on them, And, even though few of us would like to be stuck in a lift with either, from a safe distance, we can’t get enough.

So imagine a world where the two things could be combined. Just imagine… However, due to the abundance of heat and lack of water in volcanos, you never see the two in the same room…

…Until now.

A bunch of scientists took a boat out to the Solomon Islands off the East coast of Papua New Guinea to take a closer look at an underwater volcano called Kavachi. Despite being completely submerged, it’is still believed to be an active volcano, making the surrounding water both very hot and incredibly acidic, rendering it inhospitable for most life.

However, Scalloped Hammerhead and Silky Sharks, along with a handful of other marine beasts, aren’t your ordinary animals. They’ve made the scorching waters their home. Their presence has baffled the scientists, as it’s believed there’s no way any animals can survive during a full eruption.

What we can say with certainty, however, is that the sharks and the volcanos are teaming up. This sounds like the plot of a future Samuel L.Jackson cult hit.
