Since starting with one of the best vert ramps in europe and a midi ramp built by backyard in 1989. Hastings park has been going backwards ever since.
We've had a 1 year temporary park installed in 2000, fast forward 8 years and we still have it! but it is now so water logged and full of holes with screws sticking out it is totally unsafe to use. The 2008 Battle of Hastings comp wasn't run as it was unsafe and an embarrassment to ask people to travel down and skate our park.
We need a skatepark not only for today's users but for the future generations. It needs to be concrete and be up to the standards of Saffron Walden, Harlow or Crawley etc.
Over the next few months we will be planning direct action to highlight our cause. We've had enough of the council's promises/lies.
