Photographer Geoff Waugh captures the suffering riders endure in the 3 Peaks Cyclocross Race. Here is what he has to say about it:
The 3 Peaks Cyclocross race is a unique event held in Yorkshire, England. The route is 38 miles long and is raced over the three highest mountains in the county. Instead of the usual hour, competitors can take four or more to finish the gruelling challenge- so hard it is mandatory that each one carry a survival blanket and a whistle in case of emergencies. Weather is a factor and this year it rained and the rain got gradually worse. On top of the hills the wind was ferocious. Riders were ground down by fatigue and cold. This is a short that , hopefully, gives some clue as to what it was like to be a rider in the mist and clouds during 'The World's Toughest Cyclocross Race'......
