The final day of the 2012 Rip Curl Pro Portugal saw 23-year-old Julian Wilson claim his first career ASP elite world tour victory after defeating Gabriel Medina in a down-to-the-wire final at Supertubos. Meanwhile, Joel Parkinson, who finished equal third, retained his ASP World Tour ratings lead.
