Blue Sky and a perfect Mottolino Snowpark welcomed the day 1 at the 2013 WSF World Rookie Fest in Livigno. With 138 registered riders it is the largest only youth snowboard event organized in the history of World Snowboard Federation (WSF) and TTR World Snowboard Tour.
As the number the partecipation was more than the expectation, the program needed to be changed and the day 1 was used for training and qualification for the Heat 1, including male groms and all the girls. The riding level was extremely high already during the first training run and it culminated in an incredible run by 13 years old norwegian ripper Kleveland Marcus: switch backside 900, front side 720, backside double cork 1260 and cab 540. The feeling from the spectators was more to watch a pro event than a rookie slopestyle.
Day 2 at the 2013 WSF World Rookie Fest was another great day of riding, sun and fun at the Mottolino Snowpark. The day program was dedicated to the qualifications of the Heat 2 where 68 male rookies challenged for the 16 spots in the finals. Watch here the first video from the 2013 WRF in Livigno featuring the best moments of day 1 and day 2.
The weather conditions were preatty good, and the snowy forecast turned into an almost sunny day, Among the best tricks of the day, double backside rodeo, frontside 1080 and Swiss rising start Simon Bürki resulted the best riders in the field.
During the first 2 days of the event the program included the film premiere from the Australia Rookie Trip 2012, a Yoga Session and a Welcome Party to offer all the partecipants a unique lifestyle experience and opportunity to meet all the other people of the WRF crew and know each other more.
Tomorrow finals will see the top 16 male rookies from monday Heat 2, and 12 male grom, 8 female rookies and 6 female groms from Sunday Heat 1 (see the qualification results from Heat 1 here).
