After only two weeks from our first Italian stop in Borno it's been time to kick start our engines again for another Volcom Stone’s PBRJ Italy scheduled in Ovindoli, a beautiful village in Abruzzo.
A lot of snow just filled the Appennini so it's not been easy for our chapter to reach the great Magnola Park nestled in an hole full of powder.
When we got there the set up was shining under the sun and ready to get burned. We had just the time to mount the tents up and let the music start while the first other chapters came to sign in to get the glorious PBRJ patch.
The young guns had the honor to climb up first and let officially the competition begin. They totally shred the set up with particular attention to the pole jam and down box where they showed some tricks despite their very young ages (youngest was 6 years old!).
The girls came after and made it clear they wanted all judges and public attentions. Our friend Filippo Kratter was judging with Andrea and Marchino and didn't miss a trick. It was hard to climb up again and again but that's the way to get the most tricks scored and get to the podium to qualify to the European PBRJ champs.
Tons of candies and drinks thanks to Burn were given away by our staff perfectly placed to watch the 16+ finals. Staying away from some delicious american hot dogs has not been easy, also for our pro am division, the busiest of the event.
So, with their stomach filled up, they battled during the afternoon in two beautifull heats to figure who would go to the final. Great tricks, great combos and great style too to get the Electric Gooyest Move of the Day and in the end Simone de Cillia scored a "cab 2 in".
The sun was still up in the blue sky and made the work of our photographers and filmers easy to record the 4 podiums: 20 more bikers from Italy will get the road to Avoriaz, with their bags now full of prices.
Thanks again to our friends in Ovindoli, Simone Covatti and the boy at Magnola Snow Park, our Photographer Simone Magni ad to our friend sponsors Nitro, Electric,Union Bindings, Burn & Coca Cola.
See you in Avoriaz at the end of the month.
