The European PBRJ season started with a good time on the 5th of January in Białka Tatrzańska, where we run for the first time a Peanut Butter and Rail Jam contest!
For only the second time in Poland almost everything went perfect. Only the weather was trying to trick us with some serious wind gusts.
We fired up grill, gave away free drinks, heated the scene with music played by our DJ and the jam rocked in! The rail setup prepared and built by our local crew Park Pirates was really nice and everyone teared it apart. We want to thank the shapers very much, they did a great job especially on the street rail section that was bombing!
Around 70 riders signed in, and the contest started quickly with the Girls division.
They kicked off with nice tricks on PCV tube without any hesitation and did some bangers on the street rail, especially Agnieszka Rusin who impressed everyone with her tricks and won the final!
In the 15 under division our young shotguns did some strong mess as well ! Guys were riping the polejam and demonstrating their skills, and at the final round Kacper Bobowski took the first place, Congrats kid!
The level of riding went up a notch with the 16 and over division, they were shredding the rails with such tricks as cab to board or nosepresses on the downrail. Our upcoming bright star of new generation Kuba Wolak made the best scores and won the finals crushing judges by his technical style.
But everything just exploded when the OPEN category started. Guys electrified the whole public with tons of bangers, ripping anything they wanted! Big transfers, crazy spinning and smooth tricks impressed the crowd and judges, that was top level riding! Top spot went to Kuba Szkaradek for his perfect style and mellow tricks on every obstacle, it was total run for him ! Second place went to Marek Rauba who became the hero of a day riding on a broken board ! Third place went to Mateusz “Zielony” Zielonka. Congratulations everyone!
There were a lot of prizes up for grabs for riders including cash money in open, Volcom goodies and Nitro throwing in a board plus bindings.
What can we add more, it was the first time organizing a PBRJ there and for sure next year we gonna do it bigger and better. It was perfect day full of good snowboarding and chilling time !
We want to send big thanks to the Park Pirates crew for setup and organization help, to Kotelnica Ski Resort, the judges for their great job, the DJ and also Nitro for extra prizes and BURN for drinks to energize all riders and public !!
