Buttermere 3 / Buttermere edge by MTB with epic views.
The route climbs from Buttermere over 2200ft past Bleaberry Tarn, until reaching the summit of Red Pike. From there the ridge above the tarn is followed south towards Haystacks. The ridge peaks with High Stile at over 800M ~2650ft above sea level. The view is extensive, the highlight perhaps being the North Western Fells across the Buttermere valley. Ennerdale Water and Crummock Water are in view and careful steps toward the brink can also still see the tarn.
The descent of high stile is very steep and rocky, serious terrain here, epic.
The final peak is high crag, with excellent view of haystacks. Below is Scarth Gap pass, its a ganrly descent but having conquered the ridge descent from high stile it seems normal.
Once onto hgap pass the speed pics up and the track flows. Its a lovely descent back to the lakeside.
The video is in 3 parts,
0:01 the initial climb,
4:00 the ridge & the descent;
16:30 the final 5 mins is a slideshow
