Finally the summer has come and with it we are ready to start the new WITP tour. Staring at the red moon of these days all Italian wolves were howling with their snouts pointing in the direction of Turin, home of the Italian stop, the first one among other sixteen all around Europe. We mounted our tents in the very center of the town in the beautiful Valdo Fusi square, recently transformed in a huge skate plaza, full of rails, boxes, banks and many other preys for any hungry one.
Just the time to make our flags flutter with the morning wind and we started the official training for all the division or I should say for the 14- and the 15+, cause, you know, the top dogs always show up later ;-).
After some good sandwiches and drinks prepared by our girls Federica and Silvia we were ready to start the competition too.
The kids have been as always the first to shred the park. Tons of tricks from the basics to the tech have been the dish of the day.
It's been the 15+ turn on the way and we had the chance to see some very good tricks already in that division.
They understood that's what WITP is for: having fun at a skate contest with your friends. Big up so far for the 15+ division, and for the most outstanding girl,Valeria, who showed the crowd her style among all that testosterone.
Then the Open division started and it was time for speed. Very nice session, beautiful jam from all the riders, tons of tricks were landed from very technicall stuff (bs 360 tail slide) to old school evergreen (no comply down the big bank). The guys made it very hard for our three judges, Andrea, Luca (Fiore) and Ale "lo zio" Redaelli, with all the tricks landed with the many combination the park offered.
Destroying street and transition spots, the top five finishers were decided in the end, they qualified to the European Champ and the top three filled also their wallet with some fresh Volcom cash. If this day has been great we have to thank also Cristina, Erika & Poldo from Facciosnao Family, Red Bull, GTT, our speaker Matteo fumaz Fumagalli, Ilaria Troisi for the beautiful pics, Matteo Terzoli for the video recap and all the wolves who came in drawn also by or famous giveaways which, as usual, closed the day.
