Stevie Smith put himself in a strong position to become 2013 World Champion after qualifying fastest in the final race of the UCI Downhill World Cup.
Gee Atherton, the current World Cup leader, finished 1.26s behind his rival to set up an exciting final day tomorrow in Leogang, Austria. Mick Hannah, managed to sandwich himself between the two, pulling out a barnstorming run.
In the women’s competition Rachel Atherton set the fastest time of the day. After a dominant season she remains on track take the title. Emmeline Ragot and Jill Kintner qualified 2nd and 3rd behind the Brit.
