Whole project is my reasearch about role of repetition in vision and sound consists of 3 snowboard movies :
"Rap Diaspora", "Metal Diaspora", "Disco Diaspora".
I studied hisory of surfing skateboarding and snowboarding to find how loop and repeating is important in this human activity. also sound was my reasearch. The genesis of repetition in sound.
Hundred years ago in europe looping music or repeting some part of playing song was equal to low skills. Nowdays all audiovisual medias which sourround us are based on loop.
In "Rap Disaspora" construction of rap music is compared with palette of snowboard moves. Associations between diferent type of loops in motion and music make one clear message.
In Metal Diasproa classic "part-to-part" snow film construction have a try with contrast of snowboard tricks and steel makin proces in foundry. Both two "proces" are based on repetition and have basic role in human life. Also it's trip like " Let's get beck to basic" becouse jibbers are showing where all rails come from.
Third last part is Disco Diaspora and shows kind of backstage of film production.
Film is shooted in Poland in one of the most industrial regions in Europe - in Dabrowa Gornicza. Land of rails and hustle spot.
