In 2009, pro skater Cairo Foster landed this ollie at the derelict Russian Cultural Centre in Kabul, Afghanistan. It involves clearing a 3ft gap directly onto a steep and bumpy concrete slope. He landed the ollie but bailed before the final transition.
In June 2011, local skaters Mirwais and Merza attempted to recreate Foster's trick. This is what happened...
YAK DAQA is a new monthly video magazine from Skateistan, Afghanistan's first dedicated skateboard school. At the beginning of each month we will release a video, roughly one minute (Dari: 'yak daqa') in length, showcasing a particular moment, or collection of highlights from the previous four weeks.
