Giant Sea Snake Renewable Electricity Generation
Engineering firm JP Kenny has been appointed to project manage the construction of a £28m wave energy farm off the coast of Cornwall. Wave Hub, located 16km off the Cornish coast near Hayle, will have a capacity of 20 megawatts, enough to provide electricity for 3,000 homes. It will be used for 'pre-commercial' testing of wave power, and if successful, could become the world's largest commercial wave energy farm.
