10 Brands That Have Defined Skateboarding

Skateboarding has progressed thanks to the companies that push it forward

Rarely has one company had two distinct phases that have affected skateboarding so heavily. It was started by Mike Ternasky in 1991, in partnership with World Industries, with a team that included Rodney Mullen, Danny Way and Colin McKay. Their 1992 film ‘Questionable’ became an instant cult classic.

In 1993, Mike Ternasky was killed in a car accident and the company was set aside in 1998. However, in 2005 Danny Way and Colin McKay brought Plan B Skateboards back with a signature style of stark and clear colours, and with fresh, young riders like Paul Rodriguez, PJ Ladd and Ryan Sheckler.
