Terje Haakonsen was the first superstar of his sport
and is still the idol of the snowboard scene today.
The 34-year-old is still active as a rider and has held
the world record for the highest jump with a
snowboard since 2007. But the Norwegian is also a
man of character and a rider who shows initiative.
Despite best chances to win the gold medal, he
boycotted the Olympic Winter Games. And he was
the co-founder of the Arctic Challenge taking place in Norway since 1999. Since 2002, this contest has been part of the 'Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour'
which has also been co-founded by Haakonsen.
