Tag 2 des O'Neill Big Mountain Pro begann für alle um 5.00 Uhr in der Früh. Das Tagesziel sollte die Nordkette bei Innsbruck sein. Nach zweistündiger Busfahrt, auf der die Fahrer noch die letzten Kräfte sammelten, ging es mit der Gondel auf die 1.905 Meter hoch gelegene Seegrube.
Nach einer Traverse, die "mich schon echt fertig machte", so Freddy Evensen, hatten die Rider einen 2,5 Stunden Hike am Grat des Brandjochs zu bewältigen. Ziel waren zwei Couloires links unterhalb des Gipfels auf knapp 2.500 Meter.
