Yeti: Aaron Gwin Biog
Who is Aaron Gwin?
Until 2008, there were few on the world downhill scene that knew this name. That was before Mont-St-Anne, and tenth place at his first ever World Cup. It did not stop there, with the Californian youngster coming home in eighth at the last race of the World Cup in Schladming.
Having competed on the US BMX circuit between the ages of four and twelve, Gwinny moved over to motocross, where he again progressed, looking to move into supercross. However, a series of injuries put an end to this, and he retired. Around the same time, he met up with a friend who was into mountain biking, and sat on his first downhill rig. The rest, as they say, could be history.
Watching this clip, you are seeing a rider who remains a relatively unknown quantity. Gwin himself however, has no intention of racing to come tenth, for the young US rider, it’s all about winning.
