The weather has been pretty poor this year, but it gave us the chance to test out some new cameras at Sheffield Cable and Sale waterpark. Shot on Canon 5dii and Sony EX1r. Super slow-mo done through Motion. Music: Peanut Vendor by The BBC Orchestra.

Byerly Monarch

The Monarch series has quickly become the staple of the Byerly wakeboard line up. Beginning with a mellow, Blended 3-stage rocker and shorter 9 inch molded fins, this shape is faster and releases off the wake quicker than previous Byerly models. New molded footbed contours keep the board rigid in the center to maintain the rocker line for consistent pop. The board then blends into a lean tip and tail for maximum flex and snap off the wake and when initiating edges. In addition to the new shape, the Monarch also features our all new Biolite 3 core. This material is lighter and stronger than traditional foam core boards. The Monarch is a proven shape at a new lower price.

The Union series is the culmination of years of development and the combination of our most advanced materials and construction methods. Inspired by our team, the Union series blends the functionally of a traditional wakeboard with the flex and feel of a thinner park board. Our new Crossover Core combines both Nova and E-Core materials to produce a lightweight feel with maximum durability. The 360-degree ABS sidewall construction provides superior impact protection while the Sintered Enduro base offers our most durable running surface to date. The Union shape itself is designed around a continuous rocker line which provides great pop and maintains speed into the wake. The subtle base features allow this series to generate edge hold but also provides solid contact on rails. Allowing a rider the option to micro adjust their stance with the addition of the Strata Mounting system was the final element to this innovative design.

The B-Side series design begins at the rocker line, which is set at a 2.6 inch Blended 3 Stage. The B-Side carries more speed into the wake than ever before. This series also features a shallower, ABS polymer molded-in fin that ends nearly an inch from the tip of the board for a buttery smooth release off the wake and maximum durability on sliders. The elevated footbed reinforces the fore body of the deck to maintain a solid rocker line off the wake, but also allows for a thinned out tip and tail creating minimum swing weight and great control on rails. This all new series is truly a freeride masterpiece.

Shaun Murray Pro Model - 2012

The goal of the Murray series was to design a board that utilized the pro model features that Shaun has become accustomed to while finding the balance of that user-friendly ride anyone could enjoy. Shaun's new shape begins with his first ever Subtle 3-stage rocker line. This new rocker gives the Murray more pop than ever before but it's subtle enough to maintain great speed into the wake and make carving as natural as his previous shapes. The new dual tunnel base contours allow for maximum water flow past the removable .8" P-Wing fins which creates a responsive edge but still allows for a quick release off the wake. This new shape is finished off with a variable edge design and exaggerated landing zone for a smooth edge transitions and soft landings.

Designing a new shape to carry the Marek name was a process that took months of development. After many prototypes were shaped and all of the testing was done, Rusty could not be happier with the end result. Beginning with the overall volume of the board, now reduced by 15%, the Marek is lighter than the original generation. Maintaining a responsive edge and speed into the wake was key in the new design. The Abrupt Continuous rocker line produces great pop off the wake while allowing the board to maintain the quick feel it has been famous for. The next generation Marek features slightly mellower base features resulting in a quicker release off the wake, allowing a rider to initiate a trick sooner. This new generation of Marek is everything you have come to love about Rusty??s shapes in a leaner more responsive package.
