About Marcilio Browne
Marcilio Browne was born and raised in Fortaleza-Ceara, Brazil. He was born in May of 1989. His nickname, Brawzinho, was given to him by his father. Several members of his family are also windsurfers; in fact, his father, uncle and brother are all champion windsurfers. Marcilio Browne started windsurfing at the age of four and won his first PWA event in 2003 in the Fuerteventura Freestyle. In 2006, he was ranked as 10th in the PWA wave, and 7th in the PWA Freestyle events. In 2007, he won the Freestyle PWA World Championships and the Fuerteventura Grand Slam.
In 2008, Marcilio Browne was ranked as 2nd overall in the PWA Freestyle, and as 11th in the Wave events. Last year he was ranked as 8th overall in the PWA and 4th in the Freestyle events. Marcilio enjoys coming home to Fortaleza, where he can spend some time sailing with his friends and family. He is sponsored by North Sails, ION, Chiemsee, Fanatic, and Kaenon.
