About Sarah Quita Offringa

Professional Windsurfer Sarah-Quita Offringa was born in Aruba on July 4, 1991, and has already become a role model for young women everywhere, as well as an ambassador for her homeland. Although she windsurfed for the first time when she was just 3 years old, she soon stopped for a few years and didn’t start back up again until she was 9.

The first Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) event Sarah-Quita Offringa ever entered was the 2003 Bonaire Freestyle, where she took 5th place. A mere three years later, when she was only 15, Sarah-Quita Offringa was named PWA Rookie of the Year. Since then she has taken first place in both the 2008 and 2009 PWA Women’s Freestyle World Championship, making her set to continue to conquer the waves in 2010. In her free time, Sarah-Quita loves to skateboard and two of her favourite moves are the Willy Skipper and the Spock 540.
