French windsurfer Thomas Traversa was born December 4, 1985 and resides in Marseille, France. He specializes in the disciplines of wave and freestyle.

Thomas Traversa made his professional debut in 2003. That same year, he won the Professional Windsurfers Association Leucate Freestyle Qualifier and began touring with the PWA in 2004. In 2007, he ranked 6th in the PWA Freestyle held in Lanzarote, Canary Islands and 5th at the PWA Wave Competition in Guincho, Portugal. That same year, he ranked 3rd in the PWA Wave Classic Freestyle in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. In 2008, he took 5th place at the PWA Wave Competition in Cabo Verde. In 2009, Thomas won the award for best rider in the Fuerteventura Wave Classic. Also in 2009, Thomas ranked 5th in PWA Waves. He trained with professional windsurfer Alex Mussolini at Pozo for the 2009 PWA World Cup.

His favorite place to surf is in Hookipa Beach Park, located on Maui. His sponsors include Gaastra, Nautix, Pat Love Windsurf, Quiksilver, and Tabou Boards.
