Waveriding in windsurfing is a very basic term. Waveriding is basically riding on the windsurfing board and riding the waves just like a surfboard. Hardcore waveriding has tons of tricks that require the full use of the sail and the board.

There are fancy tricks that come with waveriding. A windsurfer would waveride for leisure or would do it to set themself up for another harder trick. Waveriding is done by the less experienced rider right up to the elite pros. There is nothing fancy about waveriding.

The best way to describe waveriding is that when it comes to learning how to windsurf, it will be the first thing that you will learn how to do. It is basically traditional surfing but on a windsurfing board.
