stretch

Ahhh, static stretching. It’s that lovely bit at the end of a workout where you get to chill out, put yourself in various positions to lengthen your muscles and strrrrrreeeeeetch.

Static stretches are held for anything from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, they’ll keep your flexible, and may help with post-exercise stiffness. They differ from dynamic stretches as the stretch is held rather than performed through movements.

Static stretching should be performed slowly without bouncing and shouldn't hurt. If it does then you are pushing it too far.
