Nitro Circus LIVE: World's First Ever Triple Backflip
Nitro Circus Live is an action sports extravaganza which showcases over forty of the world’s best action sports, including freestyle motocross, BMX, skateboarding and even some heart-stopping stunts on specially created contraptions. It's a unique opportunity to watch athletes perform daring and often record-breaking tricks in a wide range of extreme sports, and all at the same event. This short film from the Nitro Circus production team will give you just a taste of what you can expect to experience at one of their fantastic events.
When he was invited to perform for Nitro Circus in 2013, twenty-year-old snowboarder Brandon Schmidt from New Jersey, USA, became the first person to master the apparatus on the Gigant-A-Ramp. This fearsome stunt had previously wiped out two professional athletes, so it really did require 'next level' skill and courage. From the moment he succeeded in this challenge, Brandon became part of the Nitro family, and he's been entertaining audiences with his nail-biting feats ever since.
Brandon's very much the star of this short promo, in which you can see him achieve another world-first when he successfully lands a triple backflip on the unusual 'roller' snowboard, an interesting invention which adds rollers to a snowboard. This allows the rider to attempt stunts on a standard ramp. And by 'standard' we really mean 'without snow' – these ramps are absolutely enormous and anything but ordinary!
The great news is that, as Nitro Circus Live is a touring operation, there's a good chance a performance will be happening near you soon. The 2016 tour takes in Europe, Australia and North America, but wherever you are in the world it's worth keeping an eye on www.nitrocircus.com for news of future events in your country. It really is a thrilling experience you won't forget!
