The Biggest Underground Bike Park Ever Is About To Open In A Giant Cave…
A 40 trail, 320,000 square foot bike park is set to be built under the Louisville zoo in Kentucky.
Louisville's 'Mega Cavern' is set to become the home of the biggest underground MTB bike park ever built, and it looks like it's going to be pretty damn awesome.
The wonderfully named Mega Cavern is just that - a 4,000,000 square feet space formed from 40 years of limestone mining under the Louisville Zoo. You can already go exploring in the cavern, and the hot spot is already Louisville's top tourist attraction on Trip Advisor.
The park is set to be twice as big as any similar project ever built indoors... It'll take up 320,000 square feet of the giant cavern
We doubt that ranking will take a hit when the new bike park is all finished up. The set up will be formed from 40 trails as well as a big room specifically for bike jumps, and the trails will be in perfect condition all year round.
The opening date for the park is set for New Year's Day in 2015, and will take up 320,000 square feet of the giant cavern.
The park is set to be twice as big as any similar project ever built indoors, and although zip-wires going above the biking sound like they could get annoying, the project sounds sweet all in all!
