What Happened When Danny MacAskill Went To The Playboy Mansion...
The world's finest trials rider went to visit the Playboy Mansion while in the States last month
Update: Danny Describes Playboy Mansion Visit as "Honest Mistake"
In his first book 'The Edge' Danny addressed this video and admitted it was an "honest mistake" in light of a backlash that came after releasing this video (below).
Danny says that he didn't even know the video was being shot and that he was under the impressive he was there just to get some photographs which would help promote Epecuén.
“What I had not expected was a backlash. I’d been under the impression that we were doing a photo session to help with the launch of Epecuen," he writes.
“It was just a day of shooting, a bit of fun, and very different from anything I’d done before. "Of course, I imagined there might be some behind-the-scenes clips to accompany the pictures, but nothing more. So it came as a bit of a shock when a two-minute video of me razzing around the Playboy Mansion appeared on Facebook. Oh no, I thought, I wasn’t expecting this.
"At the time, the first edition of the La Course by the Tour de France was taking place, an elite race for women pro-cyclists. Equality was an issue in all aspects of cycling, so I understood why my working in the Playboy Mansion had upset a lot of people, though it was an honest mistake on my part."
No, you didn't read that headline wrong, trials ace Danny MacAskill has shot a short edit in the Playboy Mansion.
We're not quite sure how this came about, but the Scottish rider has indeed shot a short film in the opinion-dividing mansion while he was in the States last month to host a screening of his latest feature Epecuén.
The edit features some nice riding from Danny, who recently rode an 174 foot crane in Glasgow, but on this occasion the riding is, of course, off-balanced by the setting. We're not sure what people will think of this one...
