British Columbia in Canada is famed for having some of the best mountain bike trails in the world. But for these guys, ripping around on two wheels, well, it just doesn't cut the mustard.
They've decided to ditch a wheel, handlebars and much of the frame and master the art of Mountain Unicycling. We say 'master', there is quite a lot of occasions where arse meets floor, but let's cut them a little slack here.
They're dropping down steeps on nothing but a wheel, with only a helmet and pin-sharp balance to keep them from watering the forest floor with a drop of their own claret. This is gnarly.
"at its heart, Mountain Unicycling is progression"
Granted, it does all look a little bit BoBo's Big Top Circus at times but at its heartthis is progression - and that's definitely a good thing.
The riders are already starting to get a little whip into their airs, so it'll be sick to see where this sport develops in the months and years to come.
That said, we're in no rush to give it a go ourselves. We'll stay on two wheels for a little while longer.
