It's one of the best arguments in favour of pedal power over petrol power in today's crowded cities: Cars just take up too much damn space.

Recently a group of Latvian cyclists came up with a brilliant way to make the point, constructing car-sized frames around their bikes and cycling to work in traffic.

Not only do these things show how much space a single commuter in a car takes up, they also demonstrate how little space a single commuter needs - if they were to ride a bike instead.

The Let's Bike It project aims to promote the development of cycling and cycling culture in Russia and across the countries of the former Soviet Union - places where cars are usually considered king.
