Watch a Crow Attack a Terrified Cyclist in This Bizarre Canadian Footage
This is without a doubt one of the strangest 'attacks' we've seen...
Hello, and welcome to mundane afternoon horror stories, with your host Mpora. On today’s show, we’ll be exploring the tale of the inquisitive crow that attacked a Vancouer cyclist, and the bizarre video that came as a result.
The rider Steve Huynh was on his way to work when he passed a man stroking the bird on a street corner, presumably sinisterly, because we’re not sure that there’s actually any other way you can legitimately stroke a crow.
This told Steve two things; it told him that a) the man stroking the crow was a super-villain, perhaps called ‘Crow Bar’, and b) that poor old Steve was about to become his victim.
Seconds later, the crow then flew towards the 19-year-old, and the following video ensued:
While the video above won’t leave you in too much horror at the thought of meeting F-List super villain ‘Crow Bar’, the explanation behind the event from Vancouver Avian Research employee Derek Matthews, is slightly terrifying.
He said that: “[Crows] get to know people as individuals," referring to the way in which crows, ravens and jackdaws can recognise people’s faces, clothes and gear, and become accustomed to it.
Derek believes that the crow will have mistaken Steve for another with whom he has had a previous experience – “this is almost certainly what’s happened" – so just remember, next time you tease a crow or scare one off, it’s memorised your face. And it’ll be back like a tonne of bricks when you least expect it.
