Skateistan & Fallen release shoe collaboration
Skateboarding is a universal sport. We sometimes forget how widely popular a sport can be and skateboarding is one of the few sports that spans the globe in popularity, so it's great to see that something like Skateistan isn't missed. We all know that the news will always report something ridiculous going on with some sort of UN army involved at some point but not everyone likes to read about negativity.
"Skateistan is Afghanistan’s—and the world’s—first co-educational skateboarding school. Operating as an independent, neutral, Afghan NGO, the school engages growing numbers of urban and internally-displaced youth in Afghanistan through skateboarding, and provides them with new opportunities in cross-cultural interaction, education, and personal empowerment. Skateistan's students come from all of Afghanistan’s diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. They not only develop skills in skateboarding and skateboarding instruction, but also healthy habits, civic responsibility, information technology, the arts, and languages."
Skateistan has teamed up with Fallen to release the Clipper shoe which is perfect for street and park whilst representing the unique and committed Afghan skate scene. A percentage of each pair sold goes towards keeping Skateistan’s skate and education programs running so why not do your part and grab yourself a pair. Not only are you helping kids learn but you're helping fund a positive future lifestyle for a whole country!
If you're interested in grabbing yourself a pair then head over to www.skateistan.org or follow @skateistan on Twitter for more information on Skateistan’s projects. To purchase the shoe now, go to Zumiez or CCS. For distribution enquiries contact your local Fallen/BlackBox distributor.
