Here’s What Happens When You Freestyle Ski Next To A Helicopter
This edit has got some seriously steezy vibes.
Unless you've been living under a plate of tartiflette for the entirety of 2015, you'll probably be familiar with a controversial piece we published earlier this year entitled 12 Reasons Why Skiing Is Cooler Than Snowboarding. It was intended to be a lighthearted dig at the intense levels of tribalism that have gripped both sports in recent years, but some people took it all a little too personally and pretty much burnt the internet down with their fiery indignation.
If your fury-filled head didn't explode like a crimson pasta sauce the first time you laid eyes on that headline, you might remember that one of the things we suggested that made skiing "cooler" than snowboarding was the fact that skis give you the ability to resemble a helicopter. Sure, you need balls of steel and a decent-sized kicker to pull it off but, if you so choose, you can do tricks that make you look like Arnold Schwarznegger's preferred mode of transport in Predator ("GET TO DA CHOPPA!")
This seriously steezy edit, shot in British Columbia, somehow manages the impressive feat of combining the daredevil-ness of tricking near helicopter blades with a super chilled soundtrack. It should create a jarring viewing experience, but it works...it just works.
The tricks are slicker than John Travolta's hairdo, circa 1978, and the views are picturesque enough to melt your eyeballs clean out of their sockets. If you've got a headache, perhaps caused by excessive drinking last night, you'll love the soothing vibes of this video. It's as enriching as a hot cup of Lemsip and will get you more pumped about the winter sports season than you even thought was possible.
