As we've scientifically* proven in the past, both combining two action sports to make one new one, and towing people behind high powered vehicles, is shit. Just, shit.

So, when we found about a bunch of dudes in Latvia hooning around the snow on dirt bikes while pulling skiers behind them, we weren't expecting too much. We were wrong. Very Wrong.

Twitch N' Ride is an updated version of the weird winter sport of Skijoring where, traditionally, skiers are pulled along the flat by chaps on horses. It's a pursuit popular in places where they have an abundance of snow, but no other form of entertainment, like cinemas, expensive Mexican street food stalls, or Laser Tag.

300 slightly crazy people descended onto the ancient town of Cesis, Latvia, to give this high-octane version a go. Hoards of competitors are on the course at any given time, all in a bit to cross the finish line first.

It looks as gnarly as fuck, with the possibility of a skier ending up under the wheels of a bike seemingly pretty high.

That said, if it was all cups of tea and back rubs, it probably wouldn't be that interesting would it. Actually, a Women's Institute meeting being pulled over snow behind a series of motorbikes sounds kind of good, doesn't it? Where did we put that GoPro?
