At Last! The Rocket Powered Snowboard We’ve All Been Waiting For Is Here…

But is this the real deal, or a cheeky pretender?

One of the shittiest things about snowboarding are flats. These are the bit of the mountain where the slope isn’t steep enough to actually move. As if that’s not bad enough, one of the only ways of getting around them is accepting a tow off a smug looking skier.

Presumably, sick of this all-too-regular occurrence, these guys tried to add a little less gravity-based propulsion to their boards. The strapped a pair of rockets to the back of their twin-tip and let rip.

Now, we’re assured that the rockets are a pair of G40 Lightening Motors – a popular launch system for small, home made rockets. However, we cant’ help but feel the good folks at After Effects had somewhat of a hand in things.

But, lets give the snowboarding rocketeers the benefit of the doubt and say that this NASA inspired board is legit. All that heat coming off the back of your board is sure to fuck your deck up a little bit. Hell, you shouldn’t even leave a snowboard near a radiator, let alone strapping two Yoga Flame throwers to the back.

Hmm, maybe they’d be handy in the lift queue though. Next time that Italian guy scratches your top sheet with his ski pole, you can fire up the rockets and top up his tan.
