How Can You Surf For Longer? Kai Lenny Has Unlocked The Secret
Now you can catch wave after wave and only have to paddle once
As anybody who’s ever stepped on a board and caught a wave will tell you, surfing is the one. It’s just… it’s the one. It’s virtually impossible to sum up without sounding like a cliché-bloated hippy bore, so let’s just go with what the shop monkey in Point Break says; “Surfing’s the source, man.".
So, how do you improve on something so good? By making it last, forever, obviously! And now you can. Kind of.
For a while now, people have been saying how this new design can make mushy dog-shit conditions feel like you’re riding perfect waves, but Lenny takes it a step further. He’s found that he can catch a wave, and when it’s spent, drop over the shoulder and pump back to get another wave in the set, all while still on his feet.
Granted, it does look like he's on some sort of kids ride with a particularly convincing background, but do you think he cares? Of course not.
Now, given the right conditions, and about 34 years of squats in the gym, it seems possible that you could catch wave after wave using this technique. You know, up until somebody called War Child comes and fires his boar at you while shouting something about not being local from between his gapped teeth.
We see a lot of unnecessary non-innovations in action sports equipment here at Mpora, and more often than not, they’re rubbish. But, this latest addition to the surfing arsenal looks genuinely good. Game changing, almost. And we’re not about to claim that the hydrofoil is about to alter the face of surfing forever. However, it might just add a little something to it. And, by God, we’re keen to give it a go.
