Every northern surfer knows it's true...

It has long been decided that the South West is the best spot in the UK for surfing. But as a northerner I’m just not buying it.

Think about it, everyone knows about Cornwall and Devon, whereas up north, you’ll probably be the only one stupid enough to put a toe in the North Sea. Which is obviously a good thing.

But that’s just the start of it…

In the north, you get this

Instead of this

Chips n’ gravy is socially acceptable int’ north

And much better than a boring cornish pasty

Not a fiver

You get proper seaside towns

Not just pretend ones

The northern coastline is actually prettier than the south

Sorry Cornwall, you’re just not doing it for me

Scarborough can have waves like this…

…while Fistral’s getting this

You’ll find places you never knew existed

Whereas every man and his dog knows about Newquay

Plus you’re officially not a pussy
