23 Cliched Ingredients You Need To Make The Ultimate Adventure Film
Sunsets, selfie-sticks and girls in bikinis...it's all part of the recipe.
Yesterday morning, a short travel film entitled 'The Road To Adventure' (watch it at the bottom of this page) walked into our lives. It tickled our wanderlust bone, and made us want to throw our computer out of the window, march down to the airport, and hop on the first available plane to somewhere...anywhere. But, despite enjoying it immensely, we did get the feeling we'd seen many of the aspects featured in it before.
Making a short adventure film, it turns out, is like baking a cake. It needs ingredients. Lots of ingredients. And in the same way that leaving out eggs and flour would fundamentally alter the appearance and structure of your cake, to not include the things we've mentioned in this list would weaken your adventure film beyond repair. This isn't a criticism of the adventure film genre; far from it. In fact, if anything. it's a celebration. You can watch a couple of the adventure films we've screen-shotted for this, down at the bottom, and see for yourself the reoccurring patterns.
