When Is Windsurfing On At The Rio 2016 Olympics?

Looking for live TV broadcasts of all the windsurfing events at the Rio Olympics 2016?

Windsurfing may be one of the smaller events at the Rio 2016 Olympics, but that doesn’t mean it won’t draw big viewing figures around the UK. But when will I be able to watch the windsurfing events, I hear you cry?

The Games kick off on Friday 5 August 2016 with the Opening Ceremony. The BBC will be broadcasting all of the events (including running, cycling, etc.) live from Rio across TV, radio, online and the BBC Sport mobile app.

Windsurfing In The Olympics: An Essential Guide To The Rio 2016 Windsurfing Events, The Rules And Schedule

The windsurfing events are currently scheduled to run from Monday 8 August to Sunday 14 or Monday 15 August, depending on weather conditions.

You can see the full Olympic windsurfing schedule below. This might change nearer the time.


The windsurfers will compete in a 12 race series with points award depending on which position they finish. Once the 12 races are completed, the top ten windsurfers will compete in the final Medal Race.
