Watch The Moment A New York BMXer Grinded A Stair Rail…With His Face

When visualising the trick beforehand, he probably didn't expect this to happen.

Those familiar with the world of skateboarding and BMX will know that the people who partake in these sports live their life by a certain code. And that code, in a nutshell, states that you can’t make a sick-trick omelette without taking a ridiculous tumble or two.

Here at Mpora, we see our fair share of spectacular crashes. We see so many of them that, at times, it feels like we’ve been desensitised to their inherent shock-value. This incredible BMX crash however, filmed in New York and featuring Steve “Hood Happy”, has reminded us just how impressive wipeouts can be.

Steve hits the stairs in an attempt to grind the stair rail but it all goes extremely wrong extremely quickly. He goes over the handlebars, hits the rail with his face, and ends up tumbling into a nearby hedge like an inebriated gymnast.

There’s a brief moment when it seems like Steve might not get up from the crash, which would instantly make the video a lot less entertaining and a lot more tragic.

Steve though, being the absolute trooper that he is, gets up and attempts to conduct a face-to-camera. He’s clearly a bit shaken up by the experience, but then that’s only to be expected.
