Here’s How You Fend Off A Hungry Hammerhead Shark With A Spear‏

What to do you do when you see a shark circling your boat? Jump in of course...

Let’s set the scene – you’re out on a scuba diving trip, the sun is shining, the water is glimmering, and then you see it, a hammerhead shark is circling your boat. What do you do next? Jump in of course. How else are you going to get the GoPro footage?

That’s exactly what 26-year-old adventurer Forest Galante did when he was free dive spear fishing off the Californian coast, and the footage he captured as a result is pretty damn epic.

Spear fishing may not be the most admirable hobby – don’t journey out to a shark’s home waters then be surprised when it tries to eat you – but on this occasion Forest, whose parents were presumably hippies, just used the spear to fend off the shark, so no need to go on the offensive.
