Falke TK1 Wool Men Trekking Socks | Review

Falke TK1 Wool trekking socks are designed with long, cold days in the mountains in mind

Whether you’re out and about trekking for weeks at a time in the far flung reaches of nature, or simply strolling around on the South Downs for a few wintery hours, you want a sock you can rely on; a friend for your foot, a friend that won’t let you down if the going gets tough. We think the TK1 Wool Men Trekking Sock from Falke is that sock.

These socks will provide excellent protection for your feet, especially on mountain tours, and have been put together to cope effectively when faced with cold weather conditions. The TK1 has an extra-high share of merino wool which, as you can probably guess, significantly improves the sock’s thermal insulation.

When you’re crossing that icy glacier, with crampons on your boots and frosty winds battering into your face, you’re going to be extremely grateful for that extra little bit of thermal insulation these Falke socks provide. Cold feet, as we all know, can be a one-way ticket to an unenjoyable outdoors experience so don’t risk it by settling from something that’s not up to the job.

Falke have put together a sock that serves up an optimal fit thanks, in large part, to a patented right foot/left foot cushioning system. Speaking of the sock’s fit, the toe box works exceptionally well on the TK1s; improving the overall feel and comfort of the sock thanks to its careful hold and the offset seams that are placed above the toes to prevent rubbing.

Other things worth shouting about re: the Falke TK1 include the extra-volume cushioning, designed to maximise protection against pressure points, and the triple-layered structure that transports moisture away and keeps your feet at a comfortable temperature.

Socks might never be the most exciting aspect of your outdoor gear collection but that doesn’t mean you should settle for any old pair. Having a warm body will count for nothing if, after 30 minutes in the snow, you can’t feel your feet. Consider getting yourself some Falke TK1s. You won’t regret it.
