Danny MacAskill Epecuén Trailer

Looks like the Scottish trials bike maestro is upping the bar once again

If you have even a passing interest in bikes, then you’re probably familiar with the name Danny MacAskill.

In 2009 when he was still relatively unknown, MacAskill put out a part that pretty much single-handedly redefined what was possible on a trials bike.

Not only that, but the video reached way beyond the regular bike and BMX audience and became a Youtube sensation, racking up over 35 million views to date.

He was promptly snapped up by Red Bull and has been putting out increasingly insane video parts every few years since (injury permitting). So safe to say we’re pretty excited about his latest project, Epecuén.

“Dave Sowerby, the man behind Danny’s first video and the follow up, Way Back Home is involved, which is pretty exciting.”

It’s set in the Argentinian village of the same name, which was submerged like a real-life Atlantis in the 80s and then re-emerged from the flood waters decades later as a ghost town.

The teaser doesn’t give much away, but the fact that Dave Sowerby, the man behind Danny’s first video and the follow up, Way Back Home is involved is pretty exciting.

The old slaughterhouse in Epecuen. You can imagine what Danny might do with terrain like this to ride…

And the thought of watching MacAskill take on buildings like the old slaughterhouse above has frankly got us frothing.

The full video will be released on May 27th (so that’s next Tuesday) and we’ll be sharing it right here on Mpora – so keep your eyes peeled!
