Anyone who watched the downhill world championships finals in Vallnord, Andorra on Sunday will know that the thing was plagued by gnarly crashes from start to finish.
Early on, it seemed like half the field was going down before they reached the finish line, and big names like Sam Hill, Troy Brosnan, Aaron Gwin and Gee Atherton went on to fall victim to the madness of the track. The crash footage from Gee’s run has just been dropped on the UCI YouTube – and it is pretty freakin’ terrifying.
The 2014 World Champ was absolutely flying down the speedy course before he took a vicious tumble. Somehow, he managed to get back on his bike after the incident and pin the rest of his run. We probably would’ve been rushing straight to hospital…
