Meet The Man Who Recreates Van Gough Masterpieces With Nothing But Nature

Great Art In The Great Outdoors…This Is Genuinely Breathtaking

If, like us, you spend as much time as life will allow in the great outdoors, you’ll know the natural world is a beautiful place. A work of art, even.

But one man wanted to to take these stunning visuals and make it even more like an oil painting. Quite literally.

Inspired by the Van Gough classic Olive Trees, Stan Heard took his trowel, his shovel, and his hoe,  and began creating his version of the masterpiece.

The work was commissioned by the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA), and was created in a field close to the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport so that departing and arriving flights can see organic art work from the skies.
