Red Hot Nickel Ball Candyfloss

Cotton candy is pretty sweet (play on words...definitely intended). Not only is it extremely delicious, in a way that only shit-loads of sugar can be, but if you're good at textiles it can also be used to make clothing. Or, at least, that's what we've heard...from our old textiles teacher...who had a thing for hallucinogenics.

Anyway, such is the world we live in, we can't say we truly know something these days until it's been either crushed by some hydraulically-powered press or melted with a red hot nickel ball. Cool camera, sure, but what happens when you crush it? Nice old Nokia phone, you've got there, but what happens when you put a heated ball of metal on it? etc etc.

And so, because as a species we're slowly ticking off what it looks like to destroy every single thing in the universe using a variety of methods and then uploading videos of these odd little experiments to the internet, here's what happens when an RHNB (red hot nickel ball) meets a big pile of cotton candy. We hesitate to call this art, but we went to the Tate Modern recently and the final result of this "investigation" definitely wouldn't have looked out of place there.
