Tired of paying ridiculous sums of money for a crap apartment in the city? We might just have the answer to your woes.
After we came across this map of the London Underground, charting how much rent costs across the city, we decided enough was enough. We are buying a log cabin in the mountains.
And it doesn't have to be expensive either. American company Relaxshacks make tiny wooden cabins that are not only affordable but quick and easy to build. All you need is a back garden or a small plot of land.
Derek Diedricksen decided to make his own A-frame cabin with help of architect friends David and Jeanie Stiles.
His first project was the cabin pictured at the top. It's only 80 square metres but it has all the modern conveniences you would want - a bed, storage space, sink, mini-fridge, and an overhead loft.
And it only cost $1,200 (£830 approx.) to make.
Derek now runs workshops with other tiny house builders across America - to help others create their dream pads for minimal cost.
These houses might not be ideal for living in long-term (you might miss the comfort of a proper kitchen and bathroom after a few months) but how great would it be to have as a getaway?
